Eddie’s Sweet Shop

Right after our late lunch at Andy’s Seafood and Grill, we walked to Eddie’s Sweet Shop in Forest Hills for some ice cream.  Because when it’s 40 degrees out, the first thing you want is ice cream!

It’s worth it though. Who says no to homemade ice cream and hot fudge sauce, especially when armed with a fistful of Lactaid pills? NOT ME!

Hot fudge sundae with butter pecan and chocolate ice cream

Eddie’s doesn’t skimp on the nuts–there were whole pecans in my butter pecan ice cream! Really big…nuts. 😀 There were also no ice crystals, just smooth and creamy deliciousness. Sure it’s served with the sauce and homemade whipped cream dripping messily over the side, but who cares when it’s that good and you’re hanging out with great people?

If there’s not enough sugar in your sundae, Eddie’s also has a candy counter where you can pick up some sweet nostalgia. I am not a candy person (unless there’s chocolate involved) so I didn’t pay much attention to this counter, but if you are, do check it out!
